Merveilleuse

This year, since September my life has changed. It's something totally different as I'm used to. I'm realizing my dream as a designer; "Be like Cinderella: start each day with a dose of dreaming. And someday your dream will come true." That's the reason why I'm studying fashion.
For this schoolyear I need to design a collection based on a historical period, I've chosen for the French Revolution, better said "Le Directoire, 1790-1799".
We need to design a historical costume what the people wore and a collection what people can wear nowadays based on the history, you can compare it with famous designers collections like Alexander McQueen, Dior, John Galliano, who has token inspiration and ideas based on a historical period.
It's really exciting for me to start this project but scary at the same time. It demands a lot of work and energy, but for me it feels like a hobby so I do like spending my free time on creating clothes (:
Before I can start my collection, it's easier to make a board/collage where you can focus on while designing. So I made my collage with everything that inspired me, colors, architecture, ...
My collection will be finished in Spring 2013.

Need to pack a gift ?

It's my friend's B-day and I bought some Vintage shoes for him. Too late to post a picture because it's already packed and don't want to destroy the beautiful-self-made-packing !
The vintage shop doesn't has packing, so I needed to find something original to put the shoes in. I took a carton I don't use. But it looked drab! Just the brown drab color .. Baaah! You can imagine what I mean.

Started by using a piece of a shirt which I teared up and I used it for the bow around the carton. It still looked bored and it needed color. Colors are missing and that's important! 

Where to find colors? Idea :: press-cuttings !!!

He's into vintage (like I am) and I searched for cuttings he might like! 

And the present is packed !!! You like?

DO IT YOURSELF

I was so bored yesterday. I decided to do something with my work that I am "finishing" a long time now! But came up to other ideas as well. 

My wall was so "grey" that I made a wall-collage with souvenirs. Places I've been too. Child pictures. Museum tickets. Notes. Sketches. Hairpins. Money from other countries.
So from now on, everything that I've been done, comes on my wall! I don't need to re-paint it, or decorate with flowers etc etc .. But by my own stuff!

The same thing I did with a case. First you could see what was in the inside. For me it is all messy and I don't like to if visitors can see whats in it! ... But I solved it!
I took some carton that I've received as wrapping, took the size and cut it to frame the case.
